Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licenses - Part 66
Part 66 lays out the rules applying to people who want to do aircraft maintenance, airworthiness inspections, and certification in New Zealand.
You will need to complete and submit the relevant application form and with a copy of your online payment receipt. Click here to download the relevant application form.
Payment is required prior to processing applications.
Once fee is paid, complete licence application and include receipt number. Email licence application to Lic.applications@caa.govt.nz.
CAA participant number. If you do not have a CAA participant number, CAA will allocate one when the application is received.
If you do not wish to proceed with the online option, you can post your payment, together with the completed application form, to the CAA
AMEL Initial Issue - The licence fee includes one category. For each additional category an additional fee is required.
Type Rating application - On a specific aircraft type, any mechanical ratings incur one fee (aeroplane or helicopter plus powerplant type rating, associated with the airframe) and any avionics ratings incur one rating fee (Electrical, Instrument and Radio for same aircraft type).
Recognition of Foreign AME Licence – A charge of three (3) hours at the standard hourly rate applies.
